Everyone trembles under Zeus, ruler of the heavens! But when you find an apple of immortality, Zeus asks for your help for finding the five sacred items. To do this, you will have to swim in sea monster-infested waters, explore a scary underworld, make friends with Hercules, and finally, fight Zeus!
Mythology is widely regarded as Poptropica's most popular islands, so it's no wonder this classic was one of the first to be remade with sound in April 2014. It was originally released in April 2010.

Poptropica Cheats for Mythology Island

Let's begin this hunt! When you first arrive on Mythology, go left and into the Museum of Olympus. After you've watched the mini-animation of Zeus and his two brothers, go right and climb up the stairs and snatch the starfish off of Poseidon's face. Run outside and go left to the Tree of Immortality. Go past the giggling statue and up the stairs. Then click 'GO UP'. This part is a complicated maze so I can't help you much. Roughly, just jump up onto the snake and he will bounce you up. Then make your way left. Jump on the mushrooms to get to the higher platform, and climb onto the snake hanging from the tree. Then drop off at the second platform and go right. Make sure to jump over the gap! You're looking for a guy dressed in brown and with a reed pipe in his hands, and he'll be under a huge, glowing apple in the top-right of the scene.
Talk to the guy, and he will agree to help you reach the apple if you help him find his missing jars of honey. Ten jars may not sound like much, and you're right. Don't freak out when he tells you you only have 60 seconds; 6 seconds for each jar is more than enough. There are actually more than ten jars in the area, so that makes it much simpler. Once you're done, talk to the guy again and he will show you the secret path. The path may be a bit hard to see at first, but it's just a little left of where you are now. Follow it and click on the area above it. You'll make the apple drop. Come down, and collect the apple. The man will disappear. But wait... what's happening now? WOW! It's Zeus himself!
Zeus will not be pleased with you. Then, he will promise you immortality if you can find all of the five sacred items. Collect the scroll he leaves behind. Immortality! Sounds fair enough! After reading it, you'll find you need to find the following items for Zeus:
  1. A flower from the Garden of the Sphinx
  2. The golden ring of the Minotaur
  3. A scale from the Hydra
  4. A giant pearl from the kingdom of Poseidon
  5. A whisker from Cerebus, the guardian of the Underworld
Exit the tree area, and you'll see the old lady turn into Athena! She is Zeus's daughter, and she will warn you about him. We can't get Hercules to help us yet, so for now we should find the sacred items. Before we get started, though, there's one more thing we have to collect. Go all the way right, past Main Street, and into the Grove of Temples. Go into the first building (the one with the musical notes painted on it) and go all the way right and into the last room. Click on the barrel of pipes, and you will get one to keep. Take it all the way back where you came from. Go over the bridge and to the Garden of the Sphinx.

A flower from the Garden of the Sphinx

Go right and click on the flower. it may be a bit hard to notice at first, but it's in an orange pot next to the Sphinx. She will wake up! You'll be told that if you can get water to flow there again, you will get the red rose. So let's do this! Jump up onto the grassy platform, and jump to the right. Keep doing this until you find the 'Aqueducts' sign. Climb up the rope and drop onto the platform above. Then make your way to the top-left of the scene. There are 4 aqueduct switches that you have to flip and 2 bridges that you have to click to push. Just follow the path of the water in the pipes and do these things. The dry lake bottom will rehydrate at last!
Click on the rose to claim your reward. You'll notice that there's a piece of a note with it. Ignore it for now, and jump up. Go in the same direction you did for the aqueducts, but this time jump to the left when you see the sign. Jump left again, and collect the pomegranates in the tree. Then jump to the left, near the statue of the Minotaur. Memorize the colors on the wheel, and then take out the reed pipe. Play those colors in the right order (below), and you'll open the door! Go inside.

The Golden Ring of the Minotaur

Go left and talk to the Minotaur. He will only give you the ring if you can navigate through his Labyrinth. Thanks to Poptrickia, you can do this with no problem! Go into the maze, and after Athena is finished talking, start going right. When you face the choice to drop down or jump over a gap, jump over. Go right, slide down the chain, go left, slide down the first chain, then drop all the way down to the ground. Go right, climb the chain. Jump to the platform above you. From the ledge, jump up and right. Jump up-right again. Walk right a short distance and jump up when you see ghostly Pan. You should see some bones on a door blocking your way.
Click on them. The message says 'Fifteen bones of ancient men, take back six but still leave ten.' This doesn't make any sense! Well, it does if you pay close attention. So take out the first one, the one below it, and then the one above and right to it. It makes the letter T. After the three bones in a column, remove the one after them. Now you get E. See where I'm going with this? Remove the top one, and then the bottom one on the next group to spell 'TEN', as in the picture. The door will open! Climb down the chain, and then drop down as far as you can. Go left, jump up to the higher platform. Jump left again. Slide down the chain. Go left until you see the minotaur head on the wall, then go right and drop down.
Now you'll see a scorpion below you. Drop down, and he will come charging at you. Then, jump over him, through the gap between his stinger and the overhanging platform. Now go right and jump up the ledge. Slide down the chain and go right, through the door.
Whew! That's one long maze! Go right and click on the board. Now get ready for a tough mini-game! You must click on the snakes to catch them. But you only need to collect the red-eyed snake (thrice)! My strategy is to keep your mouse on one hole, and click when you see the red-eyed one. But this can take some time, as there's quite a bit of delay in between red-eyed snakes for one hole. At any given time, there will be one red snake, so keep your mouse in the center.
Once the gate opens, exit the labyrinth area and talk to the Minotaur. He will give you the ring in his nose! He will warn you about Zeus as well. Exit the room.

A whisker from Cerebus, the guardian of the Underworld

Go all the way right to the Grove of Temples. Go back into the music place, and go into the second room. Jump up and onto the second platform to the right and talk to the first god (Euterpe, the muse of music.) Watch her play, and then do the same on your pipe. The song is about 8-10 notes long, so you better have a good memory! Once you're done, she will give you a song to put Cerebus to sleep. It goes like this: BGYBRG (the color names are abbreviated.) Take this outside.
Go right and drop to the ground. You'll be at Hades' temple. Now this is just plain freaky. Well, that's probably because Hades is ruler of the Underworld! The guy out there needs help with all the graffiti. Just click on each of the three graffiti, and then drag your mouse across to clean it. Once you're done with all three, the guy there will give you one drachma. Then go inside the temple. Go right, and you'll find you can't open the door. Don't worry, just use the pomegranates you have and the door will disappear for you! Go inside and right. Don't worry about the bat following you. Drop down, and into the underworld! Talk to Charon (in the boat.) He will allow you to ride in his boat. Now you must avoid all the obstacles as you ride!
This next part is quite simple. There will be three hazards coming at you in a row: stalactite, flaming skull, alligator. Back up when the stalactite falls, jump up when the flaming skull comes at you, and jump again when the alligator comes at you. The trick is to only jump when the alligator's head dips below the water (he is getting ready to chomp) and land in the middle of the boat. You're actually supposed to duck with the flaming skull, but I find it easier to jump. If you fall off the boat at any time, you will have to start again! After five turns, you will arrive.
The first thing you'll notice is the three-headed dog. This is Cerebus! Now go to your backpack and memorize the song you were taught (or just read it below.) Play the song on your pipe (BGYBRG), and Cerebus will fall asleep! Click on his head to collect the whisker. Then head back to the ground.

Poseidon's Realm

Poptropica membership Go right and onto the hover pad. It will take you up. Jump off, and enter Poseidon's Realm. Use the starfish as an offering, and then go inside. This place looks a lot less hostile than Hades' realm! Go left and talk to Aphrodite. She will give you a teleporting mirror if you can identify all the gods, Hangman-style. This is easy; just do them in this order:
  1. Ares
  2. Hermes
  3. Aphrodite
  4. Artemis
  5. Hestia
  6. Apollo

Giant Pearl + Scale from Hydra

Once you're done, you will get the Touchscreen Mirror, which will teleport you to the realms of the major gods, but only if you've been there before. Now go left and click 'DIVE' on the cave that Triton warned you about. Now you can swim around, with limited oxygen, which you can recover by collecting bubbles.
Go down, then go right and up at the fork. Go right and then down. At the fork, go right and go all the way down. Go left past the shaky platform and go down, to the sunken ship. Go left, then go up to the giant clam.
Now, collect the pearl by waiting until the clam opens. When it does, quickly swoop in and collect it. Then go down, then left and go into the cave. Here, you will find the Hydra, a mythical beast that can re-grow its many heads! To beat it, get close and wait for one of its heads to rear back. Jump up when this happens. When you fall down, make sure you land on the head. You will knock it out. Do this four more times with the other heads. But do it fast, because the heads come alive again if you don't beat them all in time! Go left and drop down. Click on one of the heads to collect the scale you need. Now use your your mirror and select the lightning bolt to get to Main Street.

Visiting the Gods

Congratulations! You have found all of the sacred items! Now take them back to Athena. She will point out the message on the items for you -- it reads: 'Whoever wields the five sacred objects will rule all of Poptropica!' Uh oh. You've been tricked... and here comes Zeus! He takes all your items items away! So you shouldn't have trusted him! Run back to main Street and go into the 'Herc's Hero Hut' Go right and talk to Hercules. He will be reluctant to help you but he finally caves in when you tell him about the teleportation mirror. Now take him to Poseidon's Realm (the first one on the mirror.) He will open the block for you, and you can go in. Enter the building and talk to Poseidon. He will give you his trident.
Teleport to Hades' Realm and let Hercules get rid of the boulder there. Go in and get the crown from Hades. Now teleport back to Main Street and let Hercules break the lock on Zeus's gate for you. Go right, and you will find a snake. Hercules is over-confident, so he goes and tries to take it out of the ground. But Medusa will pop in and turn Hercules into stone! But not before he has a chance to strike a pose... Go right and buy the Bag of Wind from the guy there with the drachma you have. You'll now fly up! Don't click the mouse while flying, or you'll get off course. Then go up and jump on top of the statue of Zeus. If you mess up anywhere here, just get back down and get a free refill from the guy. Jump to the left and go up. Keep going right, lighting up all of the statues. Finally, Zeus will appear! He will be furious at you, and you will use Hades' crown and Poseidon's trident to become a god!

Battling Zeus

This part is supposed to be very hard. Click as fast as you can when Zeus is in range to attack, but swish away when he throws wind at you. Stay on the clouds for a short time and you will collect them, thus adding to your 'life' meter. Make sure to avoid Zeus when he starts glowing, because that's when he shoots orbs. If you are too close to him when he does this, he will give you a painful head-butt! Stay in the far corner of the screen when he is charging and just after his orbs shoot out, attack him! Do this 4-5 times to empty his meter. When you are done, Zeus will promise to be good and give you back the items he stole.
Yahoo! You've beaten Zeus and gotten his items back! Poptropica is safe again, thanks to you. Athena will let you keep your items for immortality and give you the Island Medallion. You can press 'SPACEBAR' while wearing the crown and trident in Multiplayer rooms to turn into a god and impress others! Also, chek out my Greek God Info Pages for info on all the main Greek Gods.
