May 02, 2010 The Minotaur’s Labyrinth in Poptropica Mythology Island is a tricky place, indeed. Looking at the comments posted to my Poptropica Mythology Island Walkthrough video, it looks like a few people are having problems with the bones puzzle that you have to do after meeting the ghost of Pan inside the labyrinth. The puzzle starts off. The first involves a riddle, removing 6 bones from an arrangement of 15, leaving '10' (the nine bones that spell the letters TEN). The scorpion pit requires you to simply jump over him. The Red-Eyed Snake is elusive, but if you have fast reflexes, you can catch him three.

In the meantime, we’ll continue our spotlight on some of the Gods and creatures from Greek mythology that you’ll find during your quest on Poptropica Mythology Island.
The Minotaur
The Minotaur is one of the most famous beats in all of Greek Mythology. The Minotaur was a creature with the head of a bull on the body of a man and he lived deep inside a giant Labyrinth, or maze, on the island of Crete. He was the offspring of another creature known as the Cretan Bull and of Pasiphaë, the wife of King Minos of Crete. When the Minotaur grew up to be dangerous, King Minos had him placed inside a giant labyrinth constructed by the famous architect Daedalus.
The Minotaur lived there, devouring prisoners sent into the labyrinth until the Athenian hero Theseus killed him with the sword of Aegeus. Theseus was helped in his quest by Ariadne, the daughter of King Minos. She gave him a ball of thread that allowed him to retrace his steps through the giant maze.
In Poptropica, you’ll encounter the Minotaur in the early part of your quest. On Mythology Island, he’s guarding the outside of a maze, and you don’t need to kill him (and he doesn’t try to eat you). Instead, he offers to give you the ring from his nose if you can find your way out of his maze. The ring is one of the five objects you need to complete your mission from Zeus. When you enter the maze, you’ll get the magic thread from Athena, which just like Theseus, will allow you to retrace your steps if you get lost.
