Gameplay

In the Poptropica players click their mouse in any direction. The player does multiple tasks in Islands, doing various tasks. Upon finishing a Island's story, players a rewarded with a gold medal of an island they finished and 100 credits, which is used on cosmetic items. Credits can be bought with real money as well. The game features memberships, which offers players with exclusive islands (as of 2015), certain cosmetic items.

Why It Sucks Now

  1. The game completely restricts you to accessing every old island, without a membership, they even removed every old island you can't play anymore.
  2. Many bugs & glitches, such as the daily bonus wheel where you can actually get way more credits than usual by logging out of the game as soon as the wheel finishes, pressing space with a item can make you float in the air, the game sometimes tends to freeze or lock up randomly, and NPCs getting stuck in certain things.
  3. Their advert games, are reskins of the same advert game where you run and dodge objects.
  4. Many of the items you used to buy are no longer in the new shop, making the accounts that own those items rare and they end up being sold on websites for a lot of money.
  5. The new chat room is horrible, you cannot even play with friends anymore.
  6. Some islands are very short, and can be beaten in one hour or less.
  7. You cannot even collect photos from islands anymore, due to the new friend list update.
  8. Sometimes the game even runs poorly.
  9. Despite being targeted towards children, in Poptropica Realms, you can put swearing in your realm title.

Poptropica Review

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Great soundtrack.
  2. Lots of islands you can explore.
  3. You can build your own creation in Poptropica Realms.
  4. It used to be good, back in 2007 - 2014, before the awful updates happened.

Poptropica 3ds Review

Score 2
I used to like this game when I was about 4-13 years old. But I stopped playing the game due to the terrible demo island update.
